Rome: January 2016, Day Two

Today we visited the Colosseum, it was beautiful, the sun even came out for a little while, so I could get some good pictures!

It's incredible to think of everything that happened here, so much history beneath our feet.

Between the rain showers we took on Palatine hill from which there are beautiful panoramic views of the city and the Roman Forum.

I love how there are orange trees all over Rome, it really cements that you're in warmer climates!

The most stunning ruins I've seen so far, you can really feel the history here, atmospheric doesn't quite cover it.
